Erwin has been Musical Director and guitarist for more than 100 International chart-topping artists.

Born in South Africa, his early music influences were steeped in American music and it was soon realised by artists and promoters in the UK that he had a very strong understanding of soul and R&B music.  His talent and expertise in this field soon found him in demand as Musical Director for visiting American artists including the Supremes, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Gloria Gaynor, Tavares, Shalamar, and many others, whenever they toured the UK and Europe.  Erwin was the Musical Director for The Three Degrees at the height of their career, producing two albums and touring the world with them.

Erwin was now booking and rehearsing all the musicians who worked with these artists.

He became involved in a number of very successful multi artist “Motown” and “Sound of Philadelphia” shows, where he had a “house band” working with all the artists on the bill.

Erwin, as Musical Director, was later asked to apply this same house band/multiple artist concept to an 80’s revival series of shows.  The result was the “Here & Now” shows, which were hugely successful. He worked with numerous  artists including Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones, Sinitta, Kim Wilde, Go West, Bananarama, T’Pau and Paul Young.  He became musical director for Kim Wilde and Rick Astley, with whom he toured extensively.

Erwin has his own contracting company called Bookers Creative Ltd which books musicians, singers and orchestras for live shows, television, film and studio sessions.

Drawing on all his experience and contacts within the music world, Erwin has recently launched a company called “Artist & Concert Solutions”, providing a ‘one-stop’ concert solution to the music entertainment industry.
